I can see the million. Maybe even Harrah's, or one of Robby's other sponsor's, a casino patron, or a race car driver (ie. Michael Waltrip) would make that large of a donation to hurricane relief, and receive the helmet.

I imagine that once the bids are qualified, the price will be in the 6 figures...

These bids are bogus. The current second place bidder (wynn) has a history of buying used childrens' clothes, shot glasses, and VHS tapes. Hardly the actions of someone capable of wasting $8 million on a helmet.

The helmet that Robby Gordon threw at Michael Waltrip was temporarily pulled off the online auction site eBay on Wednesday after bidding exceeded $10 million.

The site ended the auction because it was unable to verify the legitimacy of the bids and because Gordon didn't have the proper documentation showing that he planned to donate the proceeds of the sale to charity, eBay spokesman Hani Durzy said.
