Newly elected Calvert County Sheriff Ricky Cox exiled his competitor, long time Deputy Dave McDowell, to the Southern Md. police academy in western St. Mary's County. Kind of like "out of sight, out of the office".

The other day, the Calvert County leaders appointed McDowell to the position of Public Safety DIRECTOR.
