I am sorry for what your family went through I know its always there to haunt you.

So, I guess you're gonna' keep this thread going 'til the grieving parents see it.

I have been there. My sister drowned in a pool. My mom could not get her out of the pool. Mom was sick on the couch, pool guys left the gate open, two year old died. Should my mom be blamed? Maybe. She's 75 and still carries the guilt from 45 years ago. She'll never get over it. Sorry she was sick, yes? Pool guys f'd up, yes. If she wasn't sick, my sister wouldn't have drowned. This parent is going through guilt we will never fathom. Cut her a break.

Man, your family had a pool 45 years ago, you were rich. Also, sorry about that horrible day. :huggy:

Wow its been amazing to me to see all the people that are so perfect and have never ever made a single mistake in their parenting where they sat down and thanked God that whatever just happened didnt take their child from them. As parents a lot of times you tend to believe you can protect your child as long as you are the one right there doing something with them. Like riding them on a lawn mower w/ you or a tractor etc.. When you become a parent you are not perfect you learn as you go, and yes unfortunatly you make mistakes, and most of the time you are allowed another chance and you know not the let them ever do it again because of what almost happened. But her almost didnt get a second chance. You people can post whatever you want, but I just pray she will be able to face tomorrow and know she was a good mother and she is going to have to live in her own hell without everyone throwing judgement. Be care of throwing stones at glass houses.
You must be smoking drugs.

Parents aren't perfect, it's true, but most of the time a parent's negligence is from the kid smacking its head on an unbumpered coffee table.

It takes a special kind of stupid to let your toddler operate a motorized vehicle.

And I will judge her irresponsible ass if I want to because THAT is what's wrong with this country - these morons go running around willy-nilly, endangering those around them with their poor judgement, and they have people like YOU who stick up for them and give them sympathy.

If she lives in her own hell, good. Maybe she'll grow a brain and think about things before she does them.

So quick to judge, are the outsiders looking in
Are you trying to tell me that it's possible *you* would let a 2 year old child operate a motorized vehicle? :tap:

I tried to put myself in their place, I looked at Nicholas and asked, "What if?"
What if...what? You decided to put him on an ATV and let him take himself for a spin?

I'm sure it's not. But now we know why reasonably coherent parents don't do that.

duh.

Big difference.

Had your mother thrown your sister in the pool, knowing she couldn't swim, then I would happily blame her. As it stands, it was an accident.
