Thomas' Breakfast Bread

The same folks that make the English Muffins have a bread called Breakfast Bread. I guess they call it that because it is supposed to be toasted. And it does toast really well, great with a bit of butter and jam.

But I'll tell you what... it makes the best grilled sammiches too. It's a bit thicker sliced and a bit on the dry side so it holds up really well to being grilled with lots of stuff in the middle. It doesn't get wimpy and fall apart, doesn't curl or get misshapen. Good stuff.

Tomorrow I'm going to see what kind of french toast it makes....

Sliced Kings Hawaiian Bread, leave out to dry.

Dip bread in egg nog, throw in the pan.

Haven't made it in ages....don't forget to add eggs to the egg nog to thicken it. I also like extra nutmeg.

I always add a few drops of butter/vanilla flavoring.

I don't know --- folks in the UK have been fu*king up good food for centuries and I hesitate to try anything from "over the pond". Bangers and Smash is a good example. WTF is THAT???

Resurrecting this thread because I finally got some breakfast bread. While it is very good with butter and jam/jelly, I have hit upon my favorite! Toast it and slather this on.
