Tick Bite

Has anyone ever gotten the bullseye? If so, did it start out as a faint red ring around the initial bite area?

I pulled a tick off of me this morning, and now I'm paranoid. I don't want to rush to the docs needlessly (I don't even have a doc here yet), but I'm not even sure if I entirely removed it. I think I might see the beginnings of a very faint ring, but again it might be my paranoia. It's also on the very top of the back of my leg, so it's difficult to see.

I have Lyme.... they estimate i have had it 12-14 years....

I have had symptoms for the last 12-13 years but no one ever picked up on it... over the last 4 years is when it got really bad.

I have NEVER had a bull’s-eye....

the bad thing is .. you may NEVER test positive for it.

most of the time when exposed you will not be treated till you show symptoms.

I love my Lyme Dr I see and will refer him to anyone! He has saved my life in many ways! I have been in treatment for a year now... and will continue a form of treatment the rest of my life.

My daughter had a bullseye. Came right up a few days after the bite. She was also running a fever with it. The bulls eye was bright red, hard to miss. She spent a week in the hospital on IV meds and came home with three weeks of oral antibiotics.

In My Opinion
Looks like you are going to die.

You should do something nice for someone before you pass, so you will be remembered on a nightly basis.

perhaps sex with old people?

I have lymes it takes a few weeks to actually be able to diagnose it in a test but they will treat you if you have buuls eye it is very distinct. When I first got it I pulled tick in am and the next day it was like 3 inches around. Good luck. :howdy:

How big was the tick? if it was bigger than the head of a pencil eraser it is probably not a deer tick- the most common carrier of lyme. if you start having any flu like symptoms or develop a rash- see a doctor. The earlier they start treating you (usually doxycycline) the better. Good luck!

Smaller than a pencil eraser, and it looked black. I plucked one off of my son's back a couple of months ago that was the same size/coloring.

Thanks everyone for the advice (I think I'll refrain from hitting the old folks home for now ;) ) I don't see the mark now that I thought I saw before. I'm just going to keep an eye on it over the next few days and see what happens.

A dear tick is the size of a needle pin head.
They are very hard to spot. They are usually found after they bite and the saliva causes an irritation to the skin causing you to itch.

I have just been diagnosed with Lyme (no "s" ) again for the second time.
If you are worried. The best thing to do is see your DR. and more than likely they will put you on two weeks of doxycycline. That is standard protocol.

Good luck. You do not want Lyme disease, it will not kill you but it changes your life and really makes you feel like $hit.

Protocol is longer than two weeks... should be at least a month...
For me it was SEVERAL different meds for a year.. and that is also paired with herbs.
