a pyrethrin based product is more effective on ticks... but be careful not to use it on or around cats!!

I'm tired of finding them bastards in my house (and on my kids) ! They must hitch a ride on anything. Is stuff for the yard useful?

Spray "Cutter" on your ankles and the center. of your chest. You shouldn't have problem. They also suggest stuffing your pants inside your socks. I think that probably will look a little stupid though.

In My Opinion
Going to start using Front Line on the animals this month, Have been trying it out on the wife for about a year now to make sure it was safe first, other than a few odd twitches now and again, she has shown no ill effects. And, she has not had a single flea or tick since starting. She has been much happier and her hair is shiny

seriously though
We use front line and have never had a flea or tick on any of our animals.

I live in Calvert, and use Front Line, which does great with the Fleas, but I've found multiple Ticks on one of my Cats, and the Dog. I dab Dawn Dish Liquid on the Ticks, and within 10 minutes, the Ticks fall off!

We use K9 advantix and it works great!

Use to use Frontline but it stopped working, I would find ticks on my dogs, so a few years ago switched to K9 Advantix and have not seen one tick , I have 3 large dogs who run like to run 5 acres when we go out

We use the stuff in the yard as soon as we see a tick on the pup (*although we tried to beat it this year*)

But that stuff works like a champ. We go out in the yard and don't pick any up
