Tidewater Vets

I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Tidewater Vets. My animals have gone there for years, even though I live almost an hour away. They're wonderful, and very worth the drive.
About two days ago, I noticed my kitty, Herman, was acting weird. I'd had friends over, building a chicken coop, and thought maybe he was on overload from all the people. Next morning, he was worse... but he was moving around some, just not being Herman. I called Tidewater, and they started out saying the earliest appointment they could give me was tomorrow, but, if others opened up, they'd fit me in. They called three times, moving the time closer, genuinely trying to work me in. Herman seemed the same, so I was worried, but not panicked. Last night, he took a turn for the worse...and I really thought I was going to lose him. He seemed to stop breathing several times, and I stayed up with him all night... (For those of you who are not cat people, he is special, because he can tell when diabetics have low sugar, and he saved my husband's life, three times. Enough said) I really thought he was gone....or going... I decided that I didnt want to have him suffer one way or another, till later that afternoon. I put him in the car, and started driving to Charlotte Hall...called the emergency number on the way, and Dr Tacie calmed me down...she was pretty wonderful, and said to keep driving, and she'd have someone waiting for me there when I arrived... I got there at 845....and she had already talked to Dr Lisas, and they got us right in... Herman has pneumonia...he's not out of the woods yet, but he's night and day difference from this morning, and for that, I am so grateful.
I know it's their job, but I really feel the people at Tidewater went out of their way this morning to give Herman every chance they could....They've been my vets from when I first moved to Southern MD, and were the vet of choice for my husband, for his goats and other animals, for many years. and they will always be my vets... Thank you, Tidewater!!! You all are awesome!!!

Wow, Tidewater sounds awesome! I live in Calvert, so have never used them; I will keep them in mind. Herman is, obviously, a special kitty; I hope he pulls through.

The veterinarians at Tidewater are great people, now if they could only improve on the ones working the front desk........

I can't say enough good things about Tidewater. They have been there for my horse through colic and being kicked in the face. My dog was recently diagnosed with Addison's and the vet we used has taken us for a ride on costs. We will be switching over to Tidewater for his DoCP injections and they have been so wonderful through that process.

Now that's not nice! In life, you get what you give.
I'm pretty sure that dealing with the animals is a breeze - it's the PEOPLE that are tough.

Cleaning up all that IKKY stuff in the waiting room is worth it's weight in gold. BLEH! :dead:

A waitress at Applebys (very politely) wanted to upcharge for a replacement side item, when the one that went with hubbys dish had run out. I (politely) asked to speak to a manager to clarify that policy - I just couldn't understand it.

Mgr came over and was AWESOME, saying it would be no problem AND no charge. Turns out the waitress was a newbie and didn't know how to enter it into the register without the register adding on the upcharge. The register won't do it, mgr always has to void it off that sort of thing.

Perfect training opportunity for the Newbie and not one covered in any training sessions provided by Applebys. Lesson learned for everyone, we still got great service AND it didn't taste like anybody spit in our dinner from the kitchen because we didn't 'complain'! (I asked about that and the mgr says there are video cameras monitored so that doesn't happen 'anymore' oops )
