Tim Scott announces presidential exploratory committee for 2024 run.

I like him but really don’t think he can beat Trump in the primary. Is this an attempt for a cabinet position, or possibly a bid for VP?

I think I would like that ticket, but I don't think, as a stand alone, Scott would fair well.

I say repeal the 12th and let the runner-up be VP. That way the deciding vote in congress will almost always be the opposite party of the president.

Trump would never pick a guy like Tim Scott for VP. He’s educated and well-spoken and will be seen as too uppity by his base. He’s much more likely to choose a dummy like Lake, MTG, or Boebert — you know, equals of his base.

I do find it interesting though — most see South Carolina as ultra-conservative, but the fact they have two peter puffers as Senators suggests they are quite progressive.
