Tire pressure

I like to run 35# in the truck. The nice guys at Toyota adjusted them to 32 for me and now cold had them at 30#. So for the fun of it I had my son fill them while I watched the panel for the right amount. Worked well, but the right front was showing the increase while he filled the left and vice versa. Any idea why this might be? The rears were correct.

Sounds like the front tires were swapped left to right, but I've never had that setup, so don't know if that matters. You'd think you could move tires and it would figure it out.

Swap the fronts, just to see what happens?

Some systems will self learn the new placement, some require the dealership to intervene and tell it the new setup. My Dodge does the former.

Well maybe. All were installed at the same time though.

Hard to believe you would need to go through that after every rotation. I kinda figured the sensors would be next to the wheels. Guess I'll have to find out soon. Just sort of odd. Makes me go "hmm".

Given the industries penchant for working towards making it easier for you to just let them do stuff for you....... see if any of this helps. With make and model year, I might be able to nail it down better

The sensors are part of the valve stem. When new tires are installed, unless the wheels go back where they were originally, the locations will be messed up. Also, FYI, they have about a 10 year battery life and aren't cheap $50-75 online.

not impressed
It's pretty simple. On my GMC I hit the relearn option in the DIC and then let air out of each tire, horn beeps, and it is set.

Cheap guys, why couldn't you just put a receiver near each tire?

At say $5 a sensor, whats the price of a few million sensors? My car has three with fourth tire location being inferred. Sure glad my car just does this stuff by itself.

Guess i am glad, i don't have these kind of conveniences in my vehicles. Still old school here carry a TPG in every vehicle and check the tire pressure manually once a month, or earlier if i suspect or can see a problem. Still have manual windows, no electric door locks, chevy has a single cd player, truck has a cassette player that is never used.

Per car? $20, consumer will never notice the cost.

Simple does have advantages for sure. I still carry a gauge, but not sure why. I guess it would come in handy if I get a fail warning.

Right, but if can save that extra sensor per car, you save the company millions, at no real inconvenience to the average driver. UAW gonna get paid, baby!!!!!!:killingme
