Okay, so what is the truth? I have had two people who told me that pieces of the concrete of one of the pillars that support the bridge fell in to the Patuxent. Does anyone know if this is truthful or disinformation? I am hopeful if it was that bad the State would be inspecting it.

I did hear the Coast Guard is recommending hard hats for transitioning under the bridge.
Good Grief. And they probably have a reduced boating speed limit under the bridge so they don't create big waves that might vibrate the pillars too much.

The bridge is expected to fall in to the river in 2025, so nobody is concerned about the smaller chunks falling off.

Don't go under the bridge if you're nervous about going over the bridge.

I will say a day or two after the Key Bridge collapse they had inspectors down there....wonder what came out of that.

For your consideration ...

Now doesn't this concrete spalling being held together with some simple thin metal bands, just give everyone warm fuzzies while driving over the Patuxent everyday knowing that this is just one of the pilings that are holding up that bridge? This piling is on the Solomons side where the boat ramp is located.

The cognizant state personnel will keep their head in the sand until the bridge fails completely. I'll try to get a ferry service ready.
