Of 1 1/2 to 2 years old kids. There is a new Stomach Virus going around. It started last night for over more then 30 kids. That's what the hospial told me I'll post more info about it later.

But wait, there's more...
Is this really some "new" virus, or just new to you? Kids get sick and catch colds and viruses all the time. Mine had rhotovirus twice within a month or so when she was about 2 years old, and that sounds like what you described Justice having in your other thread.

That's what the doctor told me in the Hospial. They said New Virus.

Actually it's not a new virus, just a rhotovirus that's going around. My son had it last week and has just finished recovering from it. It's no major thing, just a little fever, squirts, and crankiness. Time heals all wounds. :peace:

Did you ask them what this new virus is called? Did they say it was called "rotovirus"? If so, that's something that's been around for a long time (kind of like the flu) and there are just different strains of it. DQ had horrible vomiting (almost projectile-like) and diahrea with it both times. :frown: Keep Justice hydrated and let it run it's course. :yay:

:yeahthat: it's not limited to toddlers or kids. I got it a day or two later after DQ had it one of the two times she had it.

Wether it's been around forever or not doesn't matter... This is important news for Mom's and Dad's to have. Thank goodness Summer is on the way and we can all be healthy again. Thanks Tig. :huggy:

Knowing what the name of it is may not keep kids from getting sick, but it's helpful to know what exactly it is so parents can watch for signs of it. And Rotovirus doesn't discriminate based on season.

I think that is what the doctor called it."rotovirus" !! He said he saw more then 30 kids last night with it a lone. It's been a very long day & night for me too. I think I got two hours sleep only with Justice being sick.

Tig, since you're preggers and you stay home with justice, it's really important for you to wash your hands extra lots with him sick, or you will get this too (you may get it anyway, just from the exposure). And considering you're preggers, that poses extra risk to you b/c of the dehydration issue. If you start to feel ill at all, be sure to let your OB/GYN know that Justice has this. :yay:

That's what the docor told me too. I see my OB tomorrow at 3:30pm & I'm also making an appointment for Justice tomorrow to see his doctor.
