To bypass or not to bypass

Rt. 4 is a bypass around Prince Frederick. The county screwed it up by allowing uncontrolled growth on the bypass. What makes you think that a bypass around the bypass would help?

Too late .. it's already in the work. North Prince Frederick Blvd is just a section at this time. If you want to see the future plan, go to the spanky new library at Prince Frederick and you will see the display on the wall. There's an aerial photo that shows what the loop is gonna look like.

I know a system of two lane loop roads are planned around the town (part of which is already built a la Prince Frederick Boulevard). Those look to be more for the benefit of local traffic than through traffic though.

I'm guessing what some people are thinking is a limited access expressway type bypass around town. Don't know the logistics on that, though.

Yea, so good luck. One has been talked about for Waldorf for at least 15 years now and we have all seen how it's progressed. Zippo pretty much sums it up.

The bypass has been in the plans for many years. It has already been started. It starts at Stokely Rd and will eventually end at German Chapel rd and rt 4.

If you're heading north from St. Mary's, Mattawoman Beantown Rd is a bypass

Yeah, Middleton being blocked off works real well :boo:

I'm not a fan of the "301 bypass." While the construction on Rosewick has been quick, there has been almost no progress made on Western/Hamilton and even less progress made on Middleton.

Is that supposed to be a bypass? I thought it was just supposed to be a system of new sidestreets to draw local traffic off of 2-4.

I would think a bypass would have at least 4 lanes.
