It was all good...
For those who tuned in, the wedding was tremendous.
Sorry to you who " didn't buy it" when Mark got emotional. Mark lost his Mother, my Sister, 6 years ago. Today, she was only with us in spirit, as was my Father who passed away in 1996. Strange, the clouds were with us all morning long and about 1 minute beforehe ceremony started, the clouds parted and we saw our first blue sky all morning. I like to believe that was my Sister doing her part.
This was a TREMENDOUS wedding, the emotions didn't stop all day. Things went on all day long that were not shown on the today show. Sarah dancing with her Dad (who is battling colon cancer) Mark dancing with his Sister instead of his Mother, all the toasts which were all VERY emotional, the songs, dedicated to my Sister Nancy. It was a very powerful and emotional day for all. My eyes STILL hurt from crying.
I had a nice long conversation with Katie Couric. I can only say this. She is a truly fine, genuine person. When I explained to her who I was and introduced my mother (Nancy's mother) she too became emotional, and none of it was fake. Remember, this is a woman who lost her spouse to cancer not so long ago.
It was a GREAT day and I wish you all could have shared in all of it. And I am sorry for those of you who just want to "brush it off". No wedding should ever be brushed off, whether you are on the today show or not. It was a lovely day.

The groom was so overcome with emotion he crying throughout speaking his vows. It was touching when his bride reached up and brushed his tears away.
