I was blubbering like a baby durning the tribute to Sophie.

Me too, and then when the guy was walking through the pound putting the E's on the cages, and then watching them put the dogs down and then put them in the dumpster to be taken to the land fill. What a horrible way to go. Oh, this show is just heartbreaking all the way around.

Everyone should go to the puppy mills and get 1 animal they dont want. I think I dont like the Amish much right now, dogs are a commodity. I think NOT! They are allowed by law to shoot the dogs thay dont want. How sad to think of a dog as the same as a cow.

Blue Ford pickup...MD tag 20T-614...had 4-5 pit pull puppies in open truck bed. Had dark metal tool box in bed of truck.
Parked at Wawa, in Prince Frederick, MD.
Showing puppies to a black family of 3, man, woman, small boy.. who pulled in and parked right next to truck. Man showing puppies...picking up puppies by scruff of the neck.
No carrier for puppies, just loose in back of pick up truck.
Seller (?) white man..approx 20-30 years old.. wearing black knit cap, black tee-shirt, smoking, and not looking like your typical dog owner.

Just did not seem "right".. So I called it in to CCSO....not sure what they can do as I am not sure what laws protect these puppies.

There are a lot of people selling dogs out of cages at the Ghetto Market in Mechanicsville. Usually about 10-12 different sellers and breeds. Of course none have papers. With Lucky Ones just a few feet away, and Tri-County Animal Shelter around the corner, dont know why none of these wont step in and make these people leave the Market.

OMG you are kidding???? That is horrible. I didnt know that. I had bought a puppy from them a few years ago. I actually didnt have a choice, the puppy wouldnt let me put him back in the cage. He held on to me for dear life. The Amish man wanted $25 for him and all I had was $17. A lady who was there watching me trying to put the puppy back donated the balance so I could take him home. His name was D - O.G. It turned out he had parvo and had to be put down at 6 months old. But he had a great life until then. Spoiled Rotten of course.

Nothing new..this guy's been on the side of Rte 4 for a few weeks...right before Bayside Chevrolet. He's out there every evening when I'm coming home from work. Has the momma dog (I'm assuming) on a leash..dark color...and the pups are in a pen. They don't look very young either...about 3/4 months old.

I'm fairly certain the law enforcement authorites have seen him, members of rescue organizations have seen him..heck he's a stone's throw from CAWL...and nothing's been done so far. :frown:

I had it tivo'd and just watched it. I am sick to my stomach and my makeup is running down my face.
It is a sad reality and I am grateful that such a respected person chose to air this. I think people will take notice. I hope it helps by slowing down the demand for puppy mill dogs and increases the likelyhood that people will instead choose to adopt the "disposable" and abused animals from shelters and rescues. I am also glad about what she said about "good" breeders because there are many of them out there.
I almost vomited when I saw the dumpster scene. I am going to go give my 3 (rescue) kitties and shelter dog big hugs.

Regarding the Puppies-4-Sale on the side of Rt. 4 before Bayside Chevy dealer: Animal Control has been notified and have checked into these people, they are not breaking any laws so they cannot do a thing about it. This is driving all of us animal loving people crazy, especially now that they are advertising "Pitbull-phone number" who knows what kind of hands those poor things are going to end up in.

My advice to everyone is to contact your county commissioner and Animal Control and complain, something has to be done. They more people that call maybe the more willing they will be to do something about it.

Thanks.
