Toddler Lunch Ideas

My toddler is getting ready to start daycare for the first time and I need some ideas for lunches to pack for her. They can be cold or hot because the daycare will heat them up if need be. Any suggestions?

our standard lunches are either last night's leftovers or grilled cheese or peanut butter snadwiches with a box of raisins and a pack of crackers.

I think we normally did a sandwich, chips/crackers, cookies and a drink...

The Miller Lite was for right before bedtime... but no Slim Jim's - no way!

Leftovers work great. My daycare provides breakfast and lunch, but when my son was in daycare, we used leftovers or PB&J sammiches. Add some goldfish and you are done.

The standard that will always be eaten around here is a sandwich, chips or crackers and a little treat. Occassionally, I offer some mac and cheese or some sort of pasta. When I try to be fancy, the whole meal basically comes back home.

We send the Gerber graduates for our daughter's dinner. She really enjoys them. I buy some lunch food for the kids and it's generally chicken nuggets, fish sticks, pizza bites, and tatar tots. My MIL also makes them cheese quesadillas (sp?) and she says they really enjoy those. She gives them veggies and fruit with their meals also so they are eating balanced meals. The kids love the chocolate animal crackers I get for them so they get those as a treat.

I try and give them variety (mine are 3 and 1.5) - which can be hard sometimes!! Turkey & Cheese sandwiches with those little jars of Gerber Veggies. Also, Target has those Smuckers frozen Uncrustable PB&Js (for lazies like me) and Uncrustable Grilled Cheese. We also do lunchables every so often.

I am so very blessed
My guy LOVES yogurt, pretzels, string cheese, pepperoni, and a slice or two of thin-cut ham rolled up with a slice of American cheese. He also really likes the teeny sausage biscuits; he'll eat the sausage and leave the biscuit behind.

:yeahthat:

I used to pack up cubes of cheese, sliced apples (tossed in a touch of lemon juice to keep them from turning brown :dead:), and pepperoni or slices of turkey/ham.

You could also pack a sammich and a few side things:
carrot sticks w/ ranch dip, celery w/ peanut butter (they sell individualized cups now, I used to just put it in a teeny tupperware bowl), fruit cups, etc.

My daughter is going through a picky phase. . . her lunches are mostly either a hot dog, corn dog, chicken nuggets, or ramen noodles. I've tried the uncrustables but she won't eat sandwiches! The chef boy r dee (how do you spell that?!) heat ups are nice too! (raviolis, spaghetti o's, mac and cheese)
