I was looking for a GPS that was portable, text to speech, plugged into cig lighter, and that was easy to use. The three top gps highest reviewed was tomtom, garmin, and magellan. I didn't want to pay $400 bucks for one, but I found a tomtom one xl for $189 at u2buy4less.

I got to use it today and it was really easy to use.
You type in the address you want to go to and the guy (we call tom) talks to you the whole way. We tried to mess it up and it recalculates too. It got us there everytime. Very happy with mine.

What kind do you have?

I bought a Garmin 350 in 2006 and love it as well. I especially like the way Garmin provides software/hardware updates (correct bugs, enhancements, etc.) for their products. I believe TomTom provides that support as well so you might want to jump over to TomTom, portable GPS car navigation systems - Support home - Select your product and make sure you keep that pup up-to-date. The only thing you should have to do every year (if you want) is get the latest maps.
