Anyone had this done on the knee? I did and I would like to know recovery time... I am getting very impatient...:coffee:

Just had both knees done friday. Walking a bit, mostly resting on Fri, fairly normal walking Sat, stairs manageable. Doc says I should be able to drive in another day or so. Almost no post-op discomfort, had drugs on the ready, never used anything, not even Tylenol.

Bandages come off tomorrow and I can shower. Looking forward to that, because something is getting a bit itchy under the bandages.

How long ago did you have yours done?

Had my left knee done on Thursday...Still using crutches because I am not comfortable without them...Just had my first shower and it was great..Dr told me not to get the incisions wet and to put a waterproof bandaid on em...I am not ready to put weight on it yet...Feels like someone is jabbin a screwdriver in my knee...Not all the time but sometimes I get a shooting pain...The overall pain hasn't been too bad...My right one comes next...Can't wait...

I used the crutches from the car to the house when I got home, haven't looked at them since.

Incisions, did you have traditional cutting, or laproscopy? That would be the difference in being uncomfortable. I had lapro. I can get them wet when I shower, just have to pat them off to dry them. Looking forward to the shower, my hair is getting yucky and I don't like to wash it in the sink.

Sorry to hear you're not coming along as quickly as you'd hoped.

I had the Lapro too... I can't see having both done at the same time...Maybe I'm just a sissy...:lmao:
I am kind of enjoying it though...I have a little bell that I ring and wifey comes a running...Don't know what happened to it though... When I went to sleep last night (After she tucked me in) the bell was right there on my night stand...This morning it was missing and I had this pain in my butt...:eyebrow:

Get Well Wishes to both of you!
Thanx!

Bi-lateral surgery isn't something they like to do often, and that's what I assumed when we started talking about going forward with it. Doc was the one to suggest it. He figured it was very low risk, 1/2 the recovery time vs 2 surgeries, only have to go under anesthesia once, less time down and away from work, etc.... Glad I did it this way.

Glad I'm not married.... I'd have more than a little bell go missing.

Good to hear.

Doing ok. Coming down stairs is a little ouchy, but otherwise I'm getting around fine. I'm trying not to twist yet....

I took the bandages off to get the shower and almost fainted. My legs below the knee were a pale blue that looked all the world like a blot clot or bruising. I was sure I was heading for the hospital. It was just something they put on before the bandages that washed off. :whew:

Hey, Dup! How are you making out? Getting around easier?

Doin OK but it is still sore as hell....Haven't got the stiches out yet...I am walking around but every once and a while a pain will shoot through the knee...

Glad to hear it's getting better.

I get a bit of a shooting pain myself if I do stairs too quickly. Getting around pretty well on flats, just got back from the transfer station and the grocery store. Not looking forward to going back to work on Monday...

Had my stitches out Wen. The hair growing back is itchy as heck.
