Traffic on bridge

What?!
Saw a fire truck head from calvert to st. mary probably about an hour ago :shrug: Traffic has been very bad this afternoon.

I just came over the bridge on the bike, all is well, clear sailing.


HOWEVER, I can't say the same for the new 3lane turn from 4S to 235S. Even tho it's now 3 turn lanes, it looks like they shortened the light so fewer cars get out than before. Traffic was backed up past Patuxent Blvd.

And if you are brave enough to actually use the new 3rd lane you have a roughly 50% chance of getting cut off by the vehicle in the #2 lane drifting over to the right into your lane. I predict that the "third turn lane" experiment will be short lived, after a sharp increase in revinue to the local body shops. Just hope the hospitals don't get involved in it too, though.

I use the 3rd lane in the morning going to work. Usually around 615 630ish and :knockonwood: haven't been cut off yet. But in the evening, give it up, your getting cut off :ohwell:
