State Police Traffic Stop Leads To Heroin Arrests In Frederick County

(FREDERICK, MD) — Maryland State Police arrested two men on various drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday in Frederick County.

Justin Mitchell. 44, and Dustin Lloyd, 28, both of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, are charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a narcotic and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. In addition, Mitchell was found to have an active warrant through the Frederick Barrack for CDS possession from a CDS arrest earlier this year. Both suspects were transported to Frederick County Central Booking for processing.

According to investigators, troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack conducted a traffic stop on a red Dodge passenger car bearing West Virginia registration for a traffic violation, on US Route 340, west of Mount Zion Road, near the US 15 split in Frederick County, Maryland. During the course of the traffic stop, a K9 from the Maryland State Police K9 Unit conducted a scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert.

A search of the vehicle and occupants resulted in the seizure of 100 suspected heroin capsules and related paraphernalia. The suspects were arrested at the scene.
