My man friend cracked my brand new tablet I got for Christmas.. Lucky he just cracked the digitizer. But, I figured it wasn't worth fixing because it was a cheap tablet got it on eBay brand for 112$ It's a irulu 10.1 the thing I did like was it had 2 micro USB slots and HDMI slot. So he made it up to me and bought me this one.

I'm a huge fan of samsung products. I had this same tablet once before but as soon as I bought some bastard stole it at school so I didn't get a chance to do much with.

So Pros or cons about it?

Galaxy Tabs have a good rep for a reason. Lets talk about the old one. Might be worth fixing. What brand and model is it? If the part is under $50, might be worth a shot.

It's some cheapo brand it's a irulu 10.1 AX 105 I think. I gave it to a friend if mine said do what you want with it. When it was shipped they left the screen on and it brunt a pixel out. Then I did some fooling around with it and the guy who sold it said it had 8 gb of memory and a 8 MP camera. Well that is not the case. It had a 1 MP camera in front and a 2 MP camera on back. It also only had 4 gb of memory. The screen resolution wasn't that good either. But at 112 with free shipping and a keyboard case what did I expect right?

You should start up a business! (or have you?)

Thing1 keeps buying* the plan at Best Buy, because he cannot seem to keep an iPod longer than 6 months without it cracking. He drops, etc. :jameo:

He now has a new case on it, (Not OTTER, but another brand) which fits very well & he can use all his gizmo earphones, etc. which doesn't make him OCD about it - and that seems to be working.

*HE buys the plan. Not me. I do not replace electronics when he breaks or damages them. He saves his money and buys it.

Nah, even if I could make a few bucks, the time spent wouldn't be worth it, my plate is too full :)

Part looks to be around $45 dollars.

So I'm looking for a keyboard for the tablet. but all ones I seen on eBay have a docking slot which I don't need because I bought a case with a kick stand. I'm also not looking to spend over 30 dollars.

Funny you mention that. The older of my two sons has a business, with two friends, that does nothing but repair the broken glass (or screen..or whatever its correctly called) on a whole range of smart phones and tablets. Making a killing, too; its a "second job" but often nets him more some weeks than his regular job (working as a mobile computer tech...like "Geek Squad" but different name)

He's not local though.

Also what is the difference between a galaxy tab and a note?

A note has a pen, I believe this isn't just a hunk of plastic but a pen that has some sort of electronic device in it.

The Barnes and Noble Nook HD and Nook HD+ are great pieces of hardware and now that they have access to Google Play they are full fledged Android tablets running a forked version of Ice Cream Sandwich. They are probably the best deals in 7 and 9 inch tablets available today.

We picked up a Fire HD as a toy around Christmas time, took back the 8GB one and exchanged for a 16 which is almost necessary with these things (I dont know how you iSheeple people handle the space restraints without cloud access). Anyways, after a few hours of research I rooted, installed Gapps, and this thing is actually pretty sweet for a cheap tablet. Have it as my torque screen now until I can swap the old ACER over to the new truck.

Long story short, at first wished we had just bought the Nook in the first place but with the few things I have done it was worth every penny. Now I also get to have fun playing CM roms.

afjess you said the other one came with a keyboard, was it a bluetooth one? You may be able to just use the other keyboard.

Awesome thing about the Nook is you don't even have to root it, just make a bootable SD card. RootMyNook vs. N2A Cards: Battle of the Nook-to-Android cards | Android Atlas - CNET Reviews

Even if you don't do anything to the Nook it can still run the Kindle app, which seems kind of weird

Yeah no SD slot on the kindle, really blows. Fiance was looking for a cheap decent tablet for her little cousin (3), and the Kindle fit the bill. Also looked at the Nook and the, galaxy tab 7". It does the job, but the locked walls drive me insane. Running a launcher made it 100 times better.
