Why should he be embarrassed? Something has to be done, correct? Bush tried to give everyone 600$, that worked well didn't it? No, just another $150B, Iraq? 600B, Bailout? 700B- yeah Bush left his successor with an easy job! Republicans are so SMART! I still can't get over it! And of course Bush did not ruin the economy! He just did nothing to stop it! LOL f***in idiots....

He shouldn't be. Everyone who thinks like you should be.

He's just doing what you think he should. Something tells me that even Barry is smarter than this - he just thinks we'll be able to absorb it.

Nothing to be embarrassed about... anyone that has had an economics 101 class knows that during times of recession you should cut taxes and increase government spending. As long as the money is put in the right places it will be fine.

It worked so well for FDR because it extended the Depression with his policies - just to see 'em keep working.

Er, wait........

No. Bush started this garbage and we GOP'ers thought he was so clever and just had to know what he was doing. Well, he may have, which makes it worse. However, we sure as hell didn't know what we were doing and let him run wild. Ultimately, it is on us, the supporters, because we're the only ones who could have raised objections that would have been listened to.

Having said that, the argument that Obama should be able to implement bad policy BECAUSE Bush did it first is pretty thin gruel.

Now, those who voted for him are the only ones that can hold Obama responsible for bad policy and implore him to good. Republicans are doing their part, some, as the loyal opposition, however, it is now in the hands of those who support Obama to hold him responsible.

Do all of the "alphabet soup" programs leading up to the world war come to mind as terrible failures, causing it to not end until then?

Increased federal spending, increased U.S. GDP...

Too bad the programs were "terrible failures". :sarcasm:

Sure, there was a ~$5B stumble in 1937, but it was far from a failure.
