Training!

OK everyone who has expressed an interest in training w/ me....

To answer a few questions that came up all at once....

1) No, I am no longer training for a living... I stopped prior to moving here and never started back up. I really didn't see much interest.

2) Yes I am willing to get a training 'group' going. I don't want to call it a class, I am no longer a business entity and I am surely not a school :).

3) We can do this for free at first at least, unless ya'all start demanding too much of my time. Then you will have to buy me nice things like leather chaps and ball gags to make up for it.

4) Is anyone left after the previous sentence?

5) Anyone serious please PM me. I am already putting together a list of 'Must Have's' and rules and such. Things like, doggies who are the slightest bit agressive or dominance humpers need to have a basket muzzle, no doubt some of you will need long lines, etc etc ad infinitum. Those that need help finding stuff I can point you in the right direct.

So yes, seriously, anyone interested PM me so I know who you are and how serious you are. Looking at doing this on Sundays, at least for now, because it's the only time I have. Also would like to keep it as close to home as possible because I'm doing it for free. Haha.

A few questions for you my dear:

1. Where is home? And any idea where this might be held?
2. How many do you think will be the max in this group?
3. How long will this group session take A(1 hour 3 hours etc), and for approx how long (i.e. 2 months, 6 months etc.)
4. What size do you wear (for the chaps of course :killingme)
5. Are we still on for Sunday, or you want to get this group started this week?

and one observation, nothing in life is free :cds:

I have a couple fields in mind... PF, ST Leonard, Lusby... I'm open to suggestions as well.

I can handle up to 20 people as long as nobody is just starting out basic basic basic. I'm talking people who have decent on lead OB (sit, down, come) and an idea what they are doing. Newbies, maybe a couple or three.

Length? Till we are done. That depends on the weather and dogs more than the people. Average, 2 hours maybe?

I have a 33" inseam, slim.

WE, yeah sure. The group, a couple/three weeks to prep and make arrangements.

Icit, I think my baby girl would make a fabulous tracker/rescuer. She can find the smallest things ever. Do you have the need for a 4 pounder? Just think of all the places she could fit. Only problem is she still thinks "sit" means "show me your belly". :ohwell:

Oddly I have had more than one person tell me I remind them of old Quentin... More demeanor than looks I think. :lmao:

You didn't seem that twisted to me!

We watched Pulp Fiction a month or so ago. The scene with the ball gag will be going through my mind all day now :cds:

FEMA. Disaster dog. Little dogs get through the rubble better :) Seriously!

I knew a guy who was trying to train a Chi as a disaster dog... dog was awesome but dog agressive, so he had to drop it... the dog needs to ignore other dogs to cert.

at 4 pounds she'd make a great disaster dog! With all the earthquakes she could wiggle into the little areas and find the survivors! I have the utmost respect for even the smallest of our heroes! :smoochy:

Do you have any idea on who to contact in regards to that type of training? She's okay off leash now and we've been working on ignoring things (cars, butterflies, birds, her dog buddy next door) and that is definitely an adventure. But she is so freaking smart I really need to find a positive outlet for her.
