Transgender Navy SEAL 'Warrior Princess' Comes Out - ABC News

Kristin Beck, formerly Chris, served 20 years as a SEAL and fought on some of the most dangerous battlefields in the world, but after she left the service she realized she wasn't living the life she wanted.

"Chris really wanted to be a girl and felt that she was a girl and consolidated that identity very early on in childhood," said Anne Speckhard, co-author of Beck's biography "Warrior Princess," which was published over the weekend. Speckhard told ABC News Beck suppressed that secret for decades, however, through the trials of SEAL training and the harrowing missions that followed, growing a burly beard as she fought on the front lines of American special operations.

But, that brings up an interesting question; what is there to 'get'? Specifically, what is there to 'get' about what an individual desires and is willing to pursue?

I mean, why do you like what you like and are attracted to and what would it be like if someone said to you "I don't get 'that'? That's not meant as an attack but, is meant as a 'hey, we, individuals, like what we like' be it food, drink, music, personal characteristics or sexual preferences. And, this goes even deeper than that, into a person's nature. I have no problem envisioning even a Navy SEAL who has certain feminine, or what we think of as feminine, characteristics perhaps in how he/she cared for, in a non sexual way, thought of, or had consideration for team mates.

I dated a couple of chicks who thought it was a hoot to get me to go to gay bars with them. Gay guys at gay bars look at women the way I look at guys in any bar; background noise.

Point being, if they mean 'gay bar' as in guy gay bar, why go as a woman? Why not just go as...a guy? I took it to me he/she went to gal gay bars.
