What do you do with a broken printer?

And no, it can't be fixed unless you glue the parts back together. After 8 years of loyal service, it finally fell apart and the replacement parts for it would cost more than a new color laser printer.

So anyway, how do I dispose of it? I assume the landfill won't take it (it's a Phaser 850 solid-ink - sucker weighs almost 100 pounds).

Does my butt look big?
When I stepped up on the glass of my XEROX machine (don't ask) it was no good after that..we took it to the dump

Calvert County has a recycling trailer for computer and conouter related stuff.. No matter the weight..just take it to the landfill and put it in the trailer.

Cool! I didn't think the dump would take computer stuff.
Last week they had a huge pile of computer crap at the transfer station by the office.

Calvert FINALLY started the computer, computer like stuff a year ago.
You can recycle PC stuff, cell phones, florescent (sp?) light bulbs...all types of printers, monitors, etc.
Not sure about Chalres or St. Marys, but I woud think they recycle that stuff too.

Stop Staring!!!!!
Give it to SMARTCO.

http://www.smartco.org/

They are on Rt. 5 on the left about 200 yards south of Great Mills road.

If it can be fixed, they will fix it and donate it to schools, churches, non profits etc. If it can't be fixed they will save it for parts.

That's even better - I'd rather donate it than just trash it, if it's salvageable.

Thanks for the update on that. I have not been there for a good 4-5 years I guess.
