I've always wanted to do something like that. Spin the wheel and see where you go. Don't make any real plans - just get up and GO.

But travelzoo.com is a great site to find deals on travel ... especially last-minute stuff.

www.sidestep.com is a great tool I just discovered last month (I only used Expedia before)-- it's free to use online:

"SideStep searches online agencies, consolidators and the sites of the airlines, hotels and rental car agencies themselves to find the Web’s best travel bargains."

or you can download the toolbar (also free I think) and compare prices side-by-side with sites like Expedia and Travelocity, etc.
