Tree falls, almost hits school bus

My kid was 10 minutes late getting home. He goes to Lettie Dent. The bus driver said a tree fell on Rt 6 and blocked the road. It almost hit another bus full of kids leaving the school.

That's pretty scary! I'm glad all the kids were okay and no one was injured.

With all the rain and winds we've had this year, the trees and their root systems are weakened. There was something on the news in the last couple of days about a jogger who was killed when a tree fell on her. What was horrific is that no one knew she was under the tree until they went to remove it.
