Tree Removal

I glanced through the other tree removal threads and didn't find the information I was looking for so I thought I would start a new thread. A friend of mine had about an acre of trees removed from her property and the lumber mill removed the trees and paid her a good junk of change for the trees. Is this something others have had done? Hubby and I are looking for a house with acreage but all we can find is woods so I'm thinking removing the trees might be an option. I understand we have to make sure the trees can be removed and will have to talk to the company and get an estimate, I had never heard of this before and wanted to see if others had had trees removed in this way.

Depends if the trees are mature hard woods or not. There are some that will clear the area for the big trees. In my case, I had LOTS of pine trees about 14 inch in diameter and no one wanted them. I had to pay to have the area cleared and they burned the trees.

hardwoods are the wood of choice for lumber mills.. If you want to we have used Amish to remove some of the trees from a lot that we had purchased, They will usually come and remove em for firewood for the winter, start there other wise dig into your pockets...well worth it, They are the hardest working people I have EVER MET.
