Nice...I thought GOOD hunters were supposed to track the deer to make sure they didn't walk around injured.

Great shots KOM. :yay:

Here is the deer with the arrow. It's a crappy pic. It was early in the morning and I was sleeping. Hubby woke me up freaking out because he couldn't get my camera to work  So I was pretty much still asleep while taking it..

That's sad. It will probably suffer horribly before it dies.

Most archery hunters do track their deer for hours on end. A bow pretty much never drops a deer on spot or even in site. The problem in this case is, a deer can heal a non fatal wound rather quick. This deer may have an arrow in it, but have stopped bleeding hours ago. The hunter can't follow a blood trail that is not there. The hunter may have taken a bad shot, the deer jumped at the second of release, or something took the arrow off course. No way of telling. The hunters I know, would be looking for that deer until they found it, or lost the trail completely. Even if it took them into the night or next day.

:yeahthat: My brother enjoys bow hunting more than shotgun/blackpowder. Their have been some occasions where he has tracked and tracked and tracked. Still looking after the blood trail has ended. He has tracked all day, into the night and the next day only to come up with nothing.

Hubby was wondering if someone shot this deer here in CRE

Does my butt look big?
I am with Catt...nothing you could do but it will get nasty..see the swelling already...it will fester up and be pretty bad..ONLY thing that might save him is winter but it is still cold enough now for flies
