America has always been tribal to some degree. That's how you end up with a little Italy neighborhood.

But those days of the assimilating immigrant in America are long gone. While older generations of immigrants raised their kids to be Americans first, the new batch could give a crap. They are here to take whatever they can get. Then they will exit to the next place that offers them more & better freebies.

Heard this from a friend whose parents came here from China - she didn’t know Mandarin because her parents insisted their kids only spoke English at home. Because he wanted his kids to be successful in America.

This sentiment - is gone. Because like participation trophies, there’s no culture to motivate for success. The safety net is now a hammock.

I guess I am nuts or something, but what really burns my ass is when a Muslim woman like Omar comes to America seeking asylum runs off at the mouth. Now where she came from women are nothing. They don't speak, they are there for breeding purposes. Now I don't have a problem so much with her speaking so much as speaking in my country with that rag on her head, her slave scarf. She now has freedom but she still wears that slave scarf.
