I had to take DQ to the ER today because the doctor and urgent care center tricare provided to me wouldn't accept tricare. Then they tell me that since she's not showing up in the North Region, they won't cover it. Yet, when I called a month ago to verify her referral for another appt she had up here, they showed it and her in the system, said she was good to go.
I've talked to no less than 7 people today there, and have gotten completely conflicting responses/direction from each one of them. And given her old man is over in the sandbox, he's not much help.
Who is the patient affairs office? Is that specific to pax or can I reach them through 877-TRICARE?

I never had a good experience with them. I went in once because I had messed my back up. I could barely walk and I had to wait 2 hours before they called me into a room. Once I was in the room it was another 2 hours. Finally I went out (mind you, I can barely walk and walking hurts) and asked them what was going on. Their response was that the Dr who was supposed to see me decided to leave early so they were trying to work me into someone else's schedule. If I hadnt been in so much pain, I coulda hit someone. I was in tears. Then all they did was give me pain pills. I had to go to the ER the next night because the pills weren't working and the Dr there was like "I dunno what you coulda did, maybe you slipped a disk or somethin, here, have some more pain pills"elaine said:I don't get why so many people have trouble with it.

That's EXACTLY what happened to me, and I don't have TRICARE. I think it's just the process of anybody suffering from severe back pain - they can't do anything about the pain other than prescribe painkillers. The real solution to back pain is to take it easy and to see a specialist to determine what the true problem is and how to fix it.Fallen said:I never had a good experience with them. Sounds like an issue with the clinic, not the insurance.Fallen said:I never had a good experience with them. I went in once because I had messed my back up. It sucks because you are still withering in pain and crying like a little sissy baby. At least that's what I did.

The Dr's work for TRICARE or under TRICARE, dont they? Military Dr's suck but it still falls under TRICARE, I would think :shrug:elaine said:How was this tricares fault?

I dunno, it was the Dr office on Bolling AFB. When I went to the ER, it was on Andrew's AFB. I think its just the military in general, or at least around here.Nickel said:Sounds like an issue with the clinic, not the insurance.
How does it work then?elaine said:Um...no.
