K-9 cop fatally shoots suspect holding likely ‘vape pen’: video
Officers spend about 10 minutes waiting outside the front door before two men emerge from the unit and are detained, but there is initially no sign of Lewis.
Police then send in a barking K-9 dog and follow it into the home.
Moments later, canine handler Ricky Anderson opens the door to a bedroom, sees Lewis on the bed and immediately shoots him.
Bryant said a frame-by-frame review of the video shows that Lewis appears to have “something” in his hand, which he raises as the officer opens the door and trains his gun on him.
Bryant said no guns were found at the scene, but a vape pen was recovered from the bed.
After being shot, a dying Lewis was ordered to “crawl” from the bed, before he was placed in handcuffs and carried out of the apartment, reported the Columbus Dispatch.
