Upper Marlboro- Troopers from the MSP Forestville Barrack are on scene, investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of US Route 301 at Maryland Route 4, in Upper Marlboro. Northbound Route 301 (Crain Highway) is currently shutdown for the investigation. A Maryland State Police collision reconstructionist is enroute to the scene for the investigation along with State Highway personnel to assist with the closure. There is currently no estimated time for the roadway to reopen as the incident is in its initial stages. More information will be released when it is available.
Citizens are reminded that pedestrians should be sure to wear clothing or other accessories that are brightly colored or reflective for safety, especially when walking or running along roadways during hours of darkness. Also pedestrians should utilize crosswalks when available to cross roadways and always adhere to all crossing signals.
