trouble finding canned mild green chilies

spellbound

New Member
A recipe I'm want to use calls for a can of mild green chilies. I have not been able to find these in Food Lion, Giant, nor SFW.

Should I be looking for something of a different name?

BTW, I'm trying to make Chili Verde in the crock pot.

I know Giant has them in glass bottles, not cans. Check the aisle that sells taco supplies and the Goya section.

I've bought these quite a bit. They are with the taco stuff. Everywhere should have them. I know I've gotten them at Food Lion and Giant.

I've only seen them in cans. They are small cans, maybe 4 oz? I think I've seen Ortega and Old El Paso brand (a blue can and a yellow can).

The foodlion in Lusby usually has them...I use them when I make chicken enchiladas, I prefer to order them from NM though :) Hatch green chiles and Sadie's salsa mmmmmmmmmm:buddies:

Look for them in the baking supplies aisle next to the canned pumpkin.

Most places carry the Herdez brand of green chilis. They come in a small 4 oz. can and are already chopped.

They're out to get us
Walmart has them canned. Salsa/Mexican section. Like someone else said, they're like tuna cans.

Thanks everybody. I will look again.

Diced or whole? They always seem to have the diced ones. Bottom shelf at Giant in the Mex food section. If you are facing with your back to the dairy/deli area.
