trouble keeping hoses on an intex pool

We have an intex metal frame pool. One of the hoses keeps coming off and draining the pool. The part that goes through the pool wall is very short. You have to clamp the hose to it but there just isnt' much to work with and so once it starts slipping it doesn't take much to come off. We have tightened the clamp as much as possible and even used some kind of super sticky tape, but it still came off. Any ideas to keep it from happening?

Get a piece of PVC that just fits inside the tube coming out of the pool and rough it up with some 100 grit sandpaper. Clamp down on that. It will give the clamp something to bite on.

Option 1) Remove the strainer that has the short connector, take it to a hardware store to get a pvc coupler that fits over the connector, a small section of pvc pipe of the same diameter, some pvc pipe primer/cleaner, and pvc adhesive. Go home and extend the connector, people at the hardware store can tell you how.

Option 2) Go to the store where you bought the pump, explain your problem and tell them you want a strainer with the appropriate length connector.

Option 3) Go to the store where you bought the pump, locate another, open the box and remove a strainer with a long enough connector. Try not to get caught. :yay:
