The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will soon begin fall trout stocking. The department anticipates stocking thousands of brown, golden, and rainbow trout in select creeks, lakes, and rivers across the state starting in early October.

Some stocked streams have seasonal restrictions so anglers should consult the 2020-2021 Maryland Guide to Fishing and Crabbing for all regulations and restrictions.

Stocking dates, times, and locations are chosen based on temperatures, water flow, and weather conditions, and as such are not scheduled in advance. Anglers can sign up to receive stocking updates or can call a recorded hotline at 800-688-3467, which is updated every Friday. We also publish stocking information on our website and social media channels.

Anglers are reminded that under Maryland’s guidance to slow the spread of COVID-19, face coverings are required in outdoor public areas whenever it is not possible to maintain physical distancing.

They stock Calvert Cliffs. Throw some silver kastmasters at them.
I went this morning and was there as the sun came up. Weeds are crazy right now and I didn't catch anything but it was nice to get outside.

They may not have stocked there yet. They just started. SOMD is near last on the list of places that get fish. Sign up here and they will email you the daily stocking list. link

I had my best luck at calvert cliffs fishing near the cement drain.

Here's a halloween video from 5 years ago. Fish this spot and cast out as far as you can. Reel back slow and set the hook as soon as you feel the tap.

That's funny, I was standing on that a few hours ago...they haven't stocked it yet according to the site but I didn't feel like driving this morning and it was a nice morning just to be out.
