Tsktsktsk, texting while driving...

Power with Control
So going to meet my wife for lunch at McKays on the L-Town road on the bike, and around Gate 1, I notice the sedan ahead of me in the center lane (I was in the right lane) edge over onto the lane dividing line a few times....no signal, no headturn I could see. He rises from standard cager idiot Threatcon 3 (lowest level) right to 5.

So, I am carefully passing him, just as I'm past his blind spot, I an see between the seats that he has his phone down by the bottom of the steering wheel. He gets about a foot into my lane, then jerks back. No real danger, since I was ready for him and had the turn lane to my right clear if needed. Edge up and glance over, phone is nowhere to be seen, and he glances over at me sheepishly. I just give him a slow sad headshake and head out. He was about 2-4 car lengths back all the way to the RT 4 split.

BTW, this is the second time I tried the New England Clam Chowder, and HOLY HELL, what an abomination.........first time was just like home, this time wasnt even close.

On the bike nowadays, my head and eyes are always moving. People just don't see you or just don't care.

I'm not one for making new laws but something should be done that has some teeth. I'd be curious if stats are available on how many tickets have been given out for texting while driving since the last law was passed. If you cause an accident because you were texting, you should go to jail. Riding in the mess coming out of Pax is bad enough without some A-hole weaving all over because they are texting.

A lady almost rear ended me last summer when I was on my bike. Her phone was in her hand, on top of the wheel as she swerved and stopped next to me. She said that she was sorry. (I guess that makes it OK) and I told her to apologize to my 12 year old because that text almost killed his dad.

Guy yesterday was first at the light. Didn't take off when it turned green, good sign. As I passed him in the lane to his left still sitting there I could see he was watching something on his buddies Ipad down in his lap. Now. How about a law about that crap?

I keep telling you guys that we just need to make a law against stupid people. That would fix a lot of social ills right there. Instead, we make nanny laws to keep them safe, we raise their children for them, and we pay them to make more idiots.

Saw this lady texting while driving in the rain yesterday, she is a very skilled driver until she becomes a killed driver.
