Will Lemon go to Fox News? Is Carlson the "easy hire"? Experts weigh in on their futures through the lens of past scandals in the media world.

No official reason was given as to why the two were let go, but varying narratives have begun to emerge in the press.

"There is less of a specific anchor to the oustings of Carlson and Lemon, but that doesn't make them less interesting," Allison Butler, media critic and senior lecturer at University of Massachusetts Amherst, explains to Yahoo Entertainment. "Lauer, O'Reilly and Cuomo were all part of the #MeToo movement and a pushback against male bullies in the workplace. Carlson has yet to have the allegations of a volatile workplace be formally proven."

"I could see Lemon ending up at Fox."
Feldstein, who spent 20 years as an on-air investigative correspondent at networks including CNN and ABC News, makes a surprising prediction about a potential landing spot for Lemon.

"I could see Lemon ending up at Fox as their token liberal who the rest of the conservatives get to beat on like they did Alan Colmes back in the day," Feldstein adds. (Colmes was the liberal counterpart to Sean Hannity as the two hosted Hannity & Colmes from 1994 to 2008.) Feldstein says both Fox and Lemon could be interested in the move "just to kind of stick a finger in CNN's eye."

Okay, Lemon couldn't get ratings even with a built-in audience at CNN. Why would Fox pay him to get even less viewers?

On a similar note, I saw Bill O'Reilly being interviewed about the Tucker situation by Chris Cuomo on some lamer no-name show that I was unaware even existed and will likely never see again. At one time O'Reilly was the king of cable news punditry, much like Tucker. He also is a multiple bestselling author. He should have enough money to put the vultures behind him and not have to interact with the likes of Cuomo, and yet there he is.

There's an illness that either draws people to celebrity or infects them once they get there. If I had a skill that someone would pay me a million dollars to do, I'd do it one time and you'd never hear from me again. Yet O'Reilly keeps trotting himself out there, washed up bands give concerts at the Calvert Marine Museum, etc etc. I mean, how low will you go for the almighty dollar that you should already have plenty of? How many yachts and mansions do you need?

As far as "experts weighing in" - bitch please. "Experts" :roflmao: How much does one get for pretending to be an "expert" while talking out their ass?

On a positive note, Tucker getting gone means I'll never again have to hear what insanity the crones on The View are spewing.

It seems that Tucker is still under contract to Fox, just had his on air time and company email taken away.
Seems like Fox wants him effectively silenced, while they work on an exit package.

The crones on the View will just find some other target for their constantly irritable bowel syndrome.

Maybe, but the Beach Boys gave a rockin' concert, and I'd go again. Ditto the Steve Miller/Frampton team up.

I think for now I am less worried about where Tucker will go as to who they can get to replace him. O'Reilly was fearsome, and liberals FEARED going on his show. I didn't think anyone could fill his shoes, and Tucker did more than that.

What WORRIES me is they will replace his slot with someone lame. For example, Jesse Waters is being talked about, and his show comes on RIGHT BEFORE Tucker's and he can't get the draw - and he's only an hour off of The Five. Plus, while he's grown more astute at digging into news items and not just parroting other outlets - he doesn't have the boldness Tucker had. Tucker often broke stories no one else knew about.

I didn't say they gave a bad concert, I said they shouldn't have to at their age. When you're 80 years old do you want to be schlepping to small venues in the middle of nowhere to put on a show for a few thousand bucks? After you spend many years selling out major arenas?

🤷‍♀️

I'm not worried about Tucker because I don't care about him personally, plus he should have enough money to never have to work again. It's too bad that now we'll have nobody to tell us the things that are really going on in this country, but oh well. Not my decision. As to who replaces him, I don't care about that either because it's unlikely I'll watch. Tucker was entertaining and enlightening, but I can get that other places than Fox.

He should be thrilled because now maybe the Democrats will stop showing up and his house to terrorize his wife and children.

Can you see Don in the Lib chair on The Five? That would be Must-See-TV.

Years ago, I got to see Jackson Browne in concert. It was clear from his hit song - "The Load Out" - that as tough as doing concerts was for him -
he absolutely loved it. I suppose if you reach an age where you're only in it for the money, you should quit. For him, the fans made it worth the time.
