Turkey cooker

I was just wandering around in Lowes and noticed an electric turkey fryer. Good idea, I think. Less chance of a fire with no open flame. Then right next to it I noticed an oiless turkey fryer. Huh? You just hang the bird in it and it cooks with HEAT! Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that an oven?

BTW almost every Christmas item is gone and replaced with 'normal' stuff.

Yeah, another effort to protect ourselves from ourselves. No oil, no fires. Yeah, kinda defeats the idea of a deep fried turkey, tho, don't it?

It cooks with infared beams or something.....I saw this too. Sorta freaky. We need just the pot to put the turkey in and went to Lowes to find one. They had none. I Like the new "fool" proof turkey fryer with the little spout on the side so you can drain the oil. Someone will find a way to mess that up!

Anyone know where we can find the pot only for frying a turkey? We have the stand and propane. Need the pot and insert.

If you find one let me know if they have another. I also have the stand and propane bottle.

Will do. I'm going to try Ace and will also check out Home Depot. Tried the home section of Kmart and the sporting goods department (No luck). Wally World may have the pots too but if not, Outdoor World or one of the bigger recreation stores may carry them. I'll look online too. I'll post what I find.

I dug out the manual on my Morrone, it was a big seller around here a few years back. No longer available, the website is gone.

Go to a local store and get the web address of of the one you like (usually on the box) and see if they have the parts.

I just did a quick search online. Way cheaper to buy the entire kit with burner than just the pot ($75-$100).

Just ordered the pot that comes with the hook and the thing that holds the turkey with a thermometer for $57.55 with shipping from Turkey Fryers Online.com. thanks for the info!

Ace, Walmart and the sporting goods stores didn't have them online. We have 2 turkeys given to us by our employers that will taste great!! You can ship it back in 30 days for a refund if you're not satisfied. We'll get a lot of use out of it. Didn't need the basket but that's also available in another package.
Happy Holidays! Gobble Gobble!

Fred's sports in Waldorf has some and so does Bass pro. Spend the $'s and get the stainless ones and not the aluminum ones. We have a small one 40 qt. and a big one 80qt. They are also great for cooking crabs. The 80qt does a bushel plus corn.
