I think you have to purchase/install a pci tv tuner card in the back of your PC, then run a cable from your Comcast cable box to the back of the pci card. Most likely, you'll have to run a software cd to "educate" your PC about the new card.

I don't know if there is a wireless connection capability, but it's probably not far off.

There are a couple of USB devices as well. Some higher end video cards offer audio and video inputs as well.

In My Opinion
I have a TV tuner card in my pc. It is separate from the video card, but it connects to it with a jumper.
I put the cable from comcast into the card and the ATI software allows me to watch tv.
I can do split screen, or as many as twenty small screens at once so I can view whats on. I can also through the software download a tv guide.
I can use the puter like a TIVO and then play it back through my house TV if I want.

I think I paid under 100 bucks for the card.

heres the card. its like 60 bucks and works well.

Do you have Media Center or Home Theater. Get an ASUS TV tuner card for, #### I'll sell ya one of mine for $20 with HomeTheater and PowerDirector.

It DOESN'T work as it should with Vista (or at least the one I have hooked up now doesn't) but MS says it should be working properly for the final release.

Yeah the cable box also does have a built in computer. I haven't seen any hacks or drivers for it - the biggest thing you can do with that is hack the box to pick up premiums...My box at home has a serial cable on it and that would plug right in to my PIII :wench:

Your right on the money here. The easiest and hasslefree way is to just buy a seperate TV Tuner Card.

I was over at Best Buy this afternoon, and a salesman showed me a tuner circuit that plugs into any USB port. On the back of it was a coaxial cable input; it also came with a remote control!

The brand name was Pinnacle, I forgot the model #.
