Does anyone know of any tv repair places other than Mark's. I went to turn on my tv and nothing. It was fine before that. Maybe a fuse or switch went out. Thanks....

You're all F'in Mad...
Unplug it for 30 minutes, then plug it in again and see if it comes on.

They are all modular.. take the back off (after you unplug it), check the fuse, see if you have a "reset" button, see if anything obviously is wrong.. burn marks etc.. other then that, it's usually cheaper to buy a new one then get an old one repaired.

There is a place in Dunkirk up Rt. 4. It's in a little plaza on the southbound lane just south of the big plaza. They do good work.

Do you know the name of the shop. I looked for it Sunday while coming through Dunkirk, no luck?

TIA!

No and I don't have a Calvert phone book with me. If he is still there, as you go South on 4, through the big intersection by the shopping plaza, its just past it. It sits in the North end of the little plaza next to an Italian restaurant. I haven't really noticed lately when I've been through there. He may have gone out of business, honestly ,I don't know how you can make a living repairing electronics with what he charged me.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in St. Mary's. I think I will try checking to see if the fuse is blown. I had heard of that before. Do you have to take the total back off. This is a magnavox and it has what looks like a little door on the back. Maybe for adjustments? More curious than anything, because it was just used the night before and it was fine. Have never had a problem with it.
I will most likely replace it. It's 16 years old, but has been a good tv.

I just bought a new HD TV myself and I'm looking to sell my old one. I've got a pretty nice 32 inch that's about 4-5 years old (absolutely nothing wrong with it). I'll let it go for $150 if your interested. I think it's a sharp with an s-video hook up. PM me for more details.
