Episode Description: Sgt. Eddie Ryan is a Scout/Sniper wounded in Iraq. He is reunited with his heroes for the Shark fishing trip of a lifetime in Montauk, Long Island, NY. America’s VetDogs, Smithtown, NY, are more than man’s best friends, they’re also companions, assistants, partners and heroes. They showcase these talents in Harrisburg, Pa., Hagerstown, Md. and Allentown, Pa.
Series Description: SAVING HEROES is a new television series for Discovery Channel’s American Heroes Channel that focuses on giving back to the people that deserve it most: military personnel, first responders and the everyday heroes going out of their way for others. Each hour-long episode of SAVING HEROES will follow the story of two heroes who are in need, in some tangible way, or a foundation that goes out of their way to help those in need. First, we will get to know our heroes as we share their tale with the audience. Much like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, these will be people we can all relate to and empathize with, people anybody would help if they could. The task of assisting these individuals will fall upon our crew, who will assemble the essential experts, goods, materials and/or services needed to aid our hero. With twenty-three episodes we will be helping forty-six deserving heroes. Part profile, part reality series, each week we will present a story of need and transform it into a story of hope.
