 I've been out of town for awhile and just noticed the "Twin Kiss" was closed. Anyone know what happened? Some say employee problems, orhers say financial problems, others have said "health inspector"problems and of course "all of the above". Over the past year it has been under new management twice(?). Then had the "U-Haul" stuff arrive. I enjoyed the classic car gatherings they had every so often.

Since I've lived in Chuck County (14 years), Twin Kiss hasn't closed for winter (I don't think). So I'm wondering if they're out of business too. I'll be a little sad, but it is just as close to go to the soft serve ice cream place that is part of B&J Carryout in Accokeek (which does close winters, oh well).

There's a sign on the door saying they are reopening in March.

I lived there for 2 years and they closed in the winter both years, like Ritas does

Well, I guess I'm mistaken about no winter closings. I can live with that if it keeps the business alive.

That place has never been the same since the original owner sold it years ago.

That's for sure. The original owners closed every winter. They had the best burgers around (back then) - hand formed, juicy. And yummy yummy root beer floats.

The Maryland Independent had a nice article when the original owners sold - they explained that they were getting up in years and none of their kids had an interest in running (too much work, I think they said). They sold it to Randy's Ribs, or something like that and the new owners assured they wouldn't change anything, but would add a few things of their own (ribs). It was never the same. I think that's when they started staying open year round.

Shortly after that ( maybe a year or two) it went up for sale again - I remember reading the flyer in the store saying $349,000, which I thought had to be a steal. I don't know who bought it, but any time I stopped in, generally anyone working there found english challenging.

I think this is another new owner...I stopped going when the food got mediocre.

Sad to see another old landmark fade away. (ie Walls Bakery)
