Two 9 yr old Girls - Owner died - Urgent in Kill Shelter

A couple of Rottweiler girls needs a loving forever home. If you have room in your heart and home, these two girls would benefit greatly from it!

All here is a story of Boo and Sadie - both 9 yrs old belonged to a lady that died and her family can't/won't keep them, they are currently in a high-kill shelter in WV.

A group in the DC area called Homeward Trails is trying to help them, they have offered to work with me in the past and will again to help get these girls in a safe and loving home.

Petfinder PetNotes
These wonderful loving Rottie girls, Boo & Sadie, are 9 years old, approx. 80-90 pounds, and spayed. They are in remarkably good health and you would think they were only half that age if you met them! They are easy-going and calm, low energy dogs. They won't need a lot of exercise - just a nice home like they are used to having before their world turned upside down.

Sadie and Boo are absolutely great and loving with all people. One lady who regularly goes into their run with them to clean says they are just fantastic with her. The one in the background can be shy at first, but will become your friend for a treat! They do love their treats! They belonged to an older woman who died and her family is unable to keep them. Boo and Sadie lived inside as house dogs and are housebroken.

They are a bonded pair, and are said to have been buddies with a couple of dogs that belonged to a relative. At the shelter though, they aren't happy with other dogs coming around their kennel. They are currently sharing a kennel run at a high-kill WV shelter - if you are interested in saving them, please contact us ASAP!

Good luck

I wish I could help... they sound like sweethearts but I've got a beagle and a two dog limit where I live. My aunt and uncle in NH have adopted Rotties in the past that were in similar situations but they currently have an English Bulldog that hates other dogs whose caretaker died in a car accident.

sounds like these two have lived long full lives, at least for Rotties.... good luck finding someone who can take them in....

Urgent - Pts Tomorrow....

If you can help please call my cell 301-94-0653 or call the number in this email:
=======
Thanks for trying to help the senior Rotties.

The adopter just wrote back today that she is going to get a puppy. A
grandmother herself, who works a full day...This puppy will outlive her, if
she ever housebreaks it, and suffer the same fate as Boo and Sadie. Just
like the rest of our throwaway society, only valuing the young and the new.

Boo and Sadie came in when the late owner's relative had them in his car,
driving drunk and got into a wreck at 3 a.m.. He turned them loose. When
the ACO's husband went to get them, they jumped right in his truck

Unfortunately, the shelter will be euthanizing them this weekend. They've
been there 3-4 weeks now, waiting for the family to come and get them. It
isn't fair for these house dogs to live in an outside kennel.

If you have any options, friends, or other rescues, please let us know. You
can also call the shelter, 304-643-4721. But it will have to be by first
thing tomorrow morning. If you think there is something that may work out
later in the day, still call in the morning and tell them so. They might be
willing to wait until late in the day to euthanize them. But don't call and
yell at them - they've given them a lot of time, even kept them when they
aren't even supposed to keep Rotties.

I just waited too long to make a push for them.

What's going on with this gals?

Have you found a foster yet?

If they approve my group to take them, then yes, we do have a foster. The next hard step will be finding a home for these two. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that there aren't any issues with the fosters current dogs or anything else.

Thanks,
Kathy

If the frickin housing market was so damn ridiculous, I would buy a place big enough for 4-5 Rotti's.....but my current situation just doesn't allow it :bawl:

I hope they find a good home :yay:

I will be meeting in Hagerstown to pick up these two girls to bring to a foster home in Huntingtown. So now we will need everyone's help to get these girls into a forever home.

They are sisters and have been together their entire life.
I had 2 dogs/sisters "show up" at my house almost 2 yr. ago-I tried in vain to find the owners on my own-I surrendered them to animal control-w/ the stipulation: PLEASE call me if no one claims them! Sure enough I got the call-they have a forever home and are truly inseparable. They sleep, eat, walk and fall in a pile together-I can not imagine them being ever separated.

K_K, Q said you got some pix of the girls today. Do you have a place where you are going to post them.

Yes, I'll put them on our site, when I get it I'll send it to you. If you have a little write up you'd like to add send it to me. They seem to be doing great in your care!

They are doing well. They really seem to like Q, maybe they were real attached to a man at some point. They are also good with me too but it's funny,,,everytime you pass by Q's truck they stop and face it like it's time to go for a ride. It's obvious they rode around in a truck and like rides!!

I love the girls. They crack me up big time with how loveable they are. Boo plunked herself done on the bed very easily.
