John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”
14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16 But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17 In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. 18 I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.”
19 Then they asked him, “Where is your father?”
You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20 He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. Yet no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.
Those ignorant Pharisees were concentrating on only the laws they could enforce. They weren't concerned about the history of the Jewish Nation. Had they a real inkling of what was going on, they would have bowed to Him. They are still stuck thinking that Jesus was from Nazareth and His dad had to be Joseph the Carpenter.

Those ignorant Pharisees were unaware, or chose to ignore, the Angelic Host that gathered over Bethlehem the night Jesus was born. They had no interest in the census that required Joseph to take Mary to Bethlehem, where he was from. If they did have any sense of history, they probably figured Jesus couldn't be from Bethlehem, because none of those babies from that time period were reported to have survived Herod's order to kill them all, even the toddlers. [Jesus was in Egypt by then... hiding]

They didn't get it. Most of us, reading these passages don't get it either. We're stuck with a human brain only capable of thinking in human terms. Back then, no man had two fathers. Heck.... look around, how many men do you know who would admit to having two dads. So since everyone knew Jesus and Joseph and Mary.... then Joseph was the dad and Mary was his wife. If Jesus had another father, then Mary would have to be guilty of adultery and she would have to be stoned. It was the law. [fancy that, it was just yesterday that we discussed stoning adulterous women].

It says here [verse 20] this argument happened in front of everyone. After all, it took place in the temple courts near where people put their offering in the box. Everyone had to have a cash offering. That's what the money changers were there for. But, in the same verse, it says no one arrested Him. It wasn't His Time.

He could have done a mindbender on them. He could have made them Believe Him. He didn't though. He wanted [wants] them to choose to Believe.

Anyone who knew Jesus, knew there was something about Him that was just over the top. He always had the right answer to every question. He could read minds. He could change minds. He knew things about people no one could have known. So, His life was really His testimony. Yep.... He did have two dads. One was earthling, who raised Him and taught Him human stuff, and His real dad, better known as God.

They didn't arrest Him that day. It wasn't His time. They were afraid of the people. They didn't want a riot. They didn't understand what Jesus was saying. I bet their tone was sarcastic [not ignorant]. They wanted Jesus to say things that turned people off. They didn't have Him arrested, because a riot in the temple would create bad press.

Jesus did have two dads.

Two Dads!
