The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating after an 11th grade student at Potomac High School in Oxon Hill brought two handguns onto school property today. The 19-year-old student is identified as Jamel Curtis of Oxon Hill.
This morning, at approximately 10:45 am, the PGPD was notified that Prince George’s County Schools security personnel recovered the two loaded guns from the student. The guns were located by a metal detector as the student walked into school. He was carrying both weapons in his clothing.
The student is in custody and will be charged with multiple offenses to include handgun on person and dangerous weapon on school property.
