(Conowingo, MD) On Friday, July 5 2019 at just after 5:30 PM, the Maryland State Police North East Barrack received a call for a crash involving two motorcycles and a passenger car in the 600 block of Conowingo Road. Upon the arrival of Cecil County Emergency Services medics and state troopers, three patients were to be medevac transported; two to Christiana Hospital in Delaware, one to Shock Trauma in Baltimore and a fourth patient was to be taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital. Two Maryland State Police Aviation medevacs were used along with a medevac helicopter from Delaware State Police.

A Maryland State Police reconstructionist will be conducting this investigation. Preliminarily it appears the two motorcycles, each with an operator and passenger, were traveling northbound on Conowingo Road when a southbound 2004 gold Buick sedan made contact with one of them. The impact from the first contact caused that motorcycle to strike the other motorcycle. Both operators and their passengers were ejected from the motorcycles. The Maryland State Highway Administration responded to assist with the over three (3) hour road closure between Merry Knoll Lane and Rock Springs Road. The identity of everyone involved is being withheld at this time pending notification to their families.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact the Maryland State Police North East Barrack at 410-996-7800 in reference to case #19MSP028194
