Toxick said:... anybody using it?
Severa said:Yep. I first jumped into Linux during the kids Christmas break. So far I've tried Ubuntu, Linux Mint, MEPIS, OpenSuse and Fedora before finally settling with Ubuntu. It works well for what I need: basic email, websurfing, and running my business (I'm an Independent Sales Rep for AVON). The most current version is codenamed Feisty, though if you're REALLY daring you can download and run their beta version, Gutsy, which is due for final release in Oct.
Toxick said:Do you know if there's a way to get the system specs for the machine through the ubuntu interface?
Severa said:You mean like 'Device Manager'? That would be System - Preferences - Hardware Information.
Toxick said:Yeah - that's it.
At least that sounds like it.. the computer I'm working on is about 1500 miles away. I'll find out if that's what I'm looking for next time I get a call
Thanks a lot.
