The white-lies associated with the Sotterley slave Plantation have become more refined and more deceptive, but everything else there is very much the exact same as always.
As the old saying goes = "The sweeter the lie sounds the meaner it really is."
There is no honest or honorable way to portray history which would make that slave plantation into a presentation of virtue.
It is not a matter of how you word the white-lies or however one white washes the history, because that slave plantation really is an ugly evil racist property.
But it could be improved for real by tearing down that ugly white trash mansion and then build something decent and something honorable on the property.
That is like the infamous saying of putting lipstick onto a pig and then call that an improvement - and yet it is still a pig.

Your head must hurt for working so hard to twist things around like this. You should take a break with one of the aforementioned movies; they will make you feel stupid, but in a funny way.
I bought a new lipstick the other day. It's kind of a dark rust color and there's an applicator thingie. I love the color but not big on the applicator because it's messy.
Too pink or too dark - that's the problem I always have. Either Maybelline or Covergirl makes a lip stain that's like a magic marker for your lips. I really like them and the color lasts for a long time.
I just hate it when that happens.
So if I start vandalizing buildings, abandon my kids, live off the public dole, and refuse to pay court-ordered child support..I can be one of you? Is there an application to join..or sumthin'?

Next time you're in Sephora you should pick up Benefit's Benetint. It's an awesome lip stain and is the perfect berry color. I have been wearing it for years with chapstick on top for a little shine.
Let's just say that all slave related properties are bulldozed to cover up history and pretend that it never happened. Then what? How do explain to growing children of the other color how they came to be in America if they are interested in their heritage? Since it has been all covered up, never happened and forgotten.

I love Benetint! It makes a great blush, too. I was afraid it would be too red but it blends right in and just makes a kind of glow.
What I dislike is finding the right color/tint only to have it discontinued.
