Left-Wing Professor Suggests Tucker Carlson, ‘Trump Wing’ Of GOP Are Committing Treason For Opposing Ukraine Conflict

“Led by Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson, the GOP’s Trump wing appears to be throwing its weight behind Putin. If Putin opts to wage war on our ally, Ukraine, such ‘aid and comfort’ to an ‘enemy’ would appear to become ‘treason’ as defined by Article III of the U.S. Constitution,” Laurence Tribe wrote early Monday morning in a now-deleted tweet.

Article III, Section 3 of the United States Constitution states:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Tribe’s tweet was aimed specifically at Carlson, who has dedicated multiple opening monologues to the issue of Russia and Ukraine, expressing his opposition to U.S. intervention in the conflict and prioritizing the problems at the U.S.-Mexico border over the Ukraine-Russia border.

“Is [intervention in Ukraine] what Republican voters want?” Carlson asked rhetorically in a segment earlier this month. “Let’s see. If you asked them, they’d probably say ‘Well, why don’t we send as much military equipment to the Texas border as we’ve sent to the Russian border?’ If someone said that out loud, then maybe the entire country could assess how grotesque Washington’s priorities are.”

Last I checked we are NOT at war with Russia

IMHO: WE, the US has no dog in this fight and I have no idea why the push for pulling Ukraine into NATO. The grab by Putin does give Russia (the Soviets again?) tons more access to the warm water ports on the Black Sea and quicker egress into the Med. Definitely some Tom Clancy/Brad Thor/Vince Flynn stuff.

SloJoe needs to place a call to Mar-A-Lago and make Trump the Ambassador to Ukraine and get him on the blower.

Biden does about-face on travel plans with Europe on the brink of war

President Biden made another sudden change to travel plans, canceling a trip to Delaware and opting to stay in Washington D.C. over the weekend as he had initially planned.

Biden was set to travel to Delaware Sunday to tend to a family-related issue, despite initially planning to stay in Washington D.C. over the weekend as the crisis between Ukraine and Russia escalated. The evolving plans come after a meeting with national security aides on Sunday, while the president spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron Sunday afternoon as tensions continue to flare between Russia and Ukraine.

So, is Ukrainian membership in NATO likely?

While Ukraine is making progress toward gaining NATO membership, it is unlikely to join NATO quickly, if at all.

All NATO members must unanimously approve a new country, based on factors like a functioning democracy and “unresolved external territorial disputes,” so the Russian troops camped on Ukraine’s border pose a problem.

NATO membership is open to any European country that can “contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area.” Aspiring member countries follow a Membership Action Plan, an application process that involves countries detailing their security and political policies. It can take a country 20 years to complete the plan and gain admittance, as in the case of North Macedonia.

Former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma publicly announced Ukraine’s interest in NATO membership in May 2002.

Ukraine then applied for a Membership Action Plan in 2008. This process stalled in 2010 under former President Viktor Yanukovich, a Putin-backed politician who did not want to pursue a NATO relationship.

Anyone who watched Tucker's show or saw a clip of what he's actually said knows that he is advocating AGAINST a pointless war, not cheering for Russia. Laurence Tribe and his disgusting ilk do this chit and the bots gobble it right up. "Yeah! If you don't want war with Russia you're a TRAITOR!"

Did you ever in your life think you'd hear liberals clamoring for war and attacking those who are against it?

Nothing coming from the mouths of Democrat Biden supporting fools surprises me.
Trump was accused of working with the Russians, but we didn't have any threats of war from Russia when he was president. Biden gives Russia a pipeline makes great threat which we all know are BS, Hunter get money from Ukraine and people are stupid enough to believe Biden isn't helping Russia?

E.U. To Launch Sanctions Against Those Involved In Russia’s Decision To Recognize Separatist Regions

“President Michel and President von der Leyen condemn in the strongest possible terms the decision by the Russian President to proceed with the recognition of the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine as independent entities,” the European Union said in a statement. “This step is a blatant violation of international law as well as of the Minsk agreements.”

“The Union will react with sanctions against those involved in this illegal act,” the statement continued. “The Union reiterates its unwavering support to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Putin’s actions were “plainly in breach of international law.”

“It’s a … flagrant violation of the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine,” Johnson said. “It is a repudiation of the Minsk process and the Minsk agreements, and I think it’s a very ill omen and a very dark sign.”

Ukraine Says Two Soldiers Killed In Russian Shelling

“As a result of the shelling, two Ukrainian servicemen received shrapnel wounds incompatible with life, twelve servicemen were wounded with varying degrees of severity and are in medical facilities and six servicemen received combat injuries,” a Ukrainian Ministry of Defense statement said. “The JFO Command expresses its sincere and deepest condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.”

These now-confirmed deaths were first reported over the weekend.

“The Ukrainian military said two soldiers were killed and four wounded in shelling by pro-Russian separatists in east Ukraine on Saturday, where a flare up of violence this week has sparked fears it could be the trigger for Russian military action,” Reuters noted. “The Ukrainian military said on its Facebook page it had recorded 70 ceasefire violations by separatists since the start of the day compared with 66 cases over the previous 24 hours.”

The Crisis in Ukraine Is Not About Ukraine. It's About Germany

The Ukrainian crisis has nothing to do with Ukraine. It’s about Germany and, in particular, a pipeline that connects Germany to Russia called Nord Stream 2. Washington sees the pipeline as a threat to its primacy in Europe and has tried to sabotage the project at every turn. Even so, Nord Stream has pushed ahead and is now fully-operational and ready-to-go. Once German regulators provide the final certification, the gas deliveries will begin. German homeowners and businesses will have a reliable source of clean and inexpensive energy while Russia will see a significant boost to their gas revenues. It’s a win-win situation for both parties.

The US Foreign Policy establishment is not happy about these developments. They don’t want Germany to become more dependent on Russian gas because commerce builds trust and trust leads to the expansion of trade. As relations grow warmer, more trade barriers are lifted, regulations are eased, travel and tourism increase, and a new security architecture evolves. In a world where Germany and Russia are friends and trading partners, there is no need for US military bases, no need for expensive US-made weapons and missile systems, and no need for NATO. There’s also no need to transact energy deals in US Dollars or to stockpile US Treasuries to balance accounts. Transactions between business partners can be conducted in their own currencies which is bound to precipitate a sharp decline in the value of the dollar and a dramatic shift in economic power. This is why the Biden administration opposes Nord Stream. It’s not just a pipeline, it’s a window into the future; a future in which Europe and Asia are drawn closer together into a massive free trade zone that increases their mutual power and prosperity while leaving the US on the outside looking in. Warmer relations between Germany and Russia signal an end to the “unipolar” world order the US has overseen for the last 75 years. A German-Russo alliance threatens to hasten the decline of the Superpower that is presently inching closer to the abyss. This is why Washington is determined to do everything it can to sabotage Nord Stream and keep Germany within its orbit. It’s a matter of survival.

Every Russian leader I can recall - including Gorbachev - has mentioned this huge leverage they hold over Europe with their gas lines.
When they don't get their way, the valves slowly pinch off.

This isn't so much the U.S. being pushed out of the European market - it's Europe once again selling the rope they will hang with. There is nothing the Russians would like more than to have Europe on a leash.
