Woman Mugged for Dog During Walk

A victim in Port Republic reported to Dep. Richard T. Cox that she was assaulted while walking her dogs on Howard Drive on October 18 between 7:35 p.m. and 7:40 p.m.
A pickup truck stopped in the middle of the road and two men jumped out and demanded that she give the dog “back” to them.
The victim states that after she told one of the men that she was not giving the dog to him, he started hitting and kicking her.
The victim told Dep. Cox that her dog had been stolen from her yard in July but was found in the Chesapeake Beach area this month.
The woman was treated at the scene by members of Company 7, St. Leonard Fire, Rescue and EMS.
